We, the post-80s generation, are fortunate. Born alongside China’s reform and opening-up, we grew steeped in tea culture. As witnesses to an era of transformation, we became citizens of the world. With our nation’s rise, tea culture flourished—specialty teahouses and modern tea spaces sprouted like bamboo shoots after rain.
小时候在老家,夏天非常炎热,晚上妈妈就给我们铺一个凉席在屋外睡觉,每当这个时候,我就会遥望星空,对宇宙充满了奇思妙想,我总相信外星人的存在,毕竟,地球仅仅是银河系的一颗行星,而浩瀚的宇宙中,怎么会只有孤零零的地球呢?或许从那时起,我就对外面的世界充满了好奇!
My journey began under the stars. As a child in my hometown, summer nights were sweltering. My mother would spread a cooling mat outdoors for us to sleep. Gazing at the cosmos, I dreamed of distant galaxies, convinced aliens existed. After all, Earth is but one planet in the Milky Way—how could our vast universe hold only this lonely orb? Perhaps that’s when my curiosity for worlds beyond first sparked.
因为父亲喜欢喝大碗茶的缘故,又或许是茶缘,2001年,我进入了茶学专业学习,至今近25年,茶已经不再是简单的一杯饮品,而是一位挚友,一位师长,伴随我的成长,成熟。10余年的茶行教育培训经验,踏遍了上百个山头,全球上千名茶友收益于我们的课程。但我仍然在这个讲台上寻找答案:国际侍茶师的角色到底是什么?
Tea chose me. My father’s love for hearty-bowled tea—or maybe fate—led me to study tea science in 2001. For nearly 25 years, tea has evolved from a simple drink into a confidant, a mentor, and a teacher, guiding my growth. With over a decade in tea education, I’ve traversed hundreds of mountains and shared knowledge with thousands worldwide. Yet on this very stage, I still seek answers: What truly defines an international tea sommelier?
关于侍茶师,至今没有清晰的定义,它既不是单一的借鉴侍酒师的餐饮之饮,也不是低人一等的服务工作。“侍”是对茶的尊重,是对生活的态度,对世界的看法,而“侍茶”则是以茶为载体,因此,传递的内容就完全取决于侍茶师个人的修养,这也是我们从开始就注重口语的表达,教学中强调综合素质的培养。
Regarding Tea Sommelier, it’s neither a mere imitation of wine sommeliers nor a subordinate service role. To "serve tea with respect" is to honor tea—an attitude toward life, a worldview. A tea sommelier uses the leaf as a vessel; what we convey depends entirely on the sommelier’s cultivation. That’s why we emphasize authentic expression and holistic development in training.
在教学的过程中也不断有茶友反馈,课程的深度和专业性,视频作业打卡的考核难度,加之学术性的结业论文答辩,为大家获得证书增加了门槛。我相信这是必然的,因为我们课程的初衷就不是为了纯粹的证书,只有掌握系统的专业知识,才能在将来随机应变,同时每一次视频作业都是为将来影响更多人做好准备。
Rigorous training, purposeful design. Many students note our course depth: challenging video assignments, academic thesis defenses, and certification hurdles. This is intentional. We don’t trade certificates for shortcuts. True expertise requires systematic knowledge to adapt fluidly in any scenario. Every video submission prepares you to inspire others.

Harmony as the Guiding Principle. Since ancient times, China has embraced harmony as its highest virtue—harmony with nature, harmony with the world. Thus, "Tea Unites All Under Heaven" (Chá Hé Tiānxià) aligns with China’s cultural diplomacy. By sharing Eastern wisdom while embracing universal philosophies, we foster civilizational dialogue, bridge divides, and advance social cohesion and global peace. This vision elevates the tea sommelier’s role to a higher purpose.
