For centuries, tea has served as a bridge connecting people across cultures and generations. Across both sides of the Taiwan Strait, tea traditions have evolved with distinctive regional characteristics while sharing a common appreciation for craftsmanship, hospitality, and cultural heritage.
As tea exchanges continue to grow, brewing tea has become more than a practical skill—it is an art form that reflects knowledge, aesthetics, mindfulness, and respect for tradition.
To encourage cultural exchange, celebrate excellence in tea preparation, and provide a professional platform for tea practitioners, the 2026 International Tea Sommelier Brewing Championship will be held in Chongqing, China in July.
The competition welcomes tea professionals, educators, enthusiasts, and aspiring tea sommeliers who wish to demonstrate their brewing skills while connecting with fellow tea lovers from across the region.
海峡两岸茶文化历史悠久，各具特色。自古以来，茶就是两岸三地人民交流的重要媒介。近年来，随着两岸交流的日益频繁，茶文化也成为了两岸人民共同关注和热爱的话题。为了进一步加强两岸茶文化的交流与合作，提升茶叶冲泡技艺的水平，特举办此次国际侍茶师泡茶比赛。
Competition Information 国际侍茶师比赛规则
Age参赛年龄:18 ~60 years
Register Fee 费用： RMB 300 /person
Register Deadline 截止日期： July 10, 2026
Competition Format比赛内容：
Each competitor will draw one of China's Six Major Tea Categories by random selection on-site.
Participants will be evaluated on their ability to demonstrate both technical proficiency and artistic presentation through a complete tea service.
参赛者按照现场六大茶类进行抽签,自己擅长的泡茶技艺、茶席布置、茶汤质量比拼等环节。

The top three winners will qualify for the International Tea Sommelier Grand Final to be held in November 2026, which is scheduled to be broadcast live by regional television media in China.
